Nate,

Yes. Depressingly I especially like. And here's how I would complete your unfinished thought: a hot and smart wife and beautiful, smart, awesome kids. And I'm only 37!

Quinlan,

You're welcome. It is very difficult, but eminently worth it, imho. If I might make a recommendation, I'd start with the books he did with Guattari, especially Anti-Oedipus. Difference and Repetition and some of his solo works might be more for those who are smitten with his more obviously political work, which I am completely.

Thanks for the kind remarks. I'm not sure about Deleuze, that stuff sounds pretty interesting, but also very difficult (which is by no means a bad thing). I like what you quote. I shall be reading it pretty soon, it's on my list.

hi Eric,
Ridiculously? How about distressingly? Depressingly! I find myself thinking "what right do you have to be so smart...?!", which is really just the expression of regret, of feeling like I must have taken the slow train to many places that others clearly got to by monorail. Ah well. At least I've got ... ... damn.
I hope you're well.
take care,
Nate
